The short version, mate: Footy Forfeit is a free entertainment site. Forfeits are jokes for adults aged 18+. You're responsible for whether you actually do them. Don't be a spud — don't do anything that could hurt anyone. We don't store your data, we don't sell it, and we don't take any responsibility for what you do off this website.

1. 18+ Only

You must be 18 years or older to use Footy Forfeit. By clicking "I am 18 or older" or otherwise using this site, you confirm that you are at least 18. If you're under 18, you must leave immediately.

2. Entertainment, Not Instructions

Forfeits generated by Footy Forfeit are fictional jokes intended for entertainment only. They are not commands, dares you must accept, or instructions to perform any specific action. You are solely responsible for deciding whether to act on a forfeit, and how. We do not endorse, encourage, recommend, or guarantee the safety, legality, or appropriateness of any generated content.

3. Assumption of Risk

By using Footy Forfeit, you acknowledge that:

Forfeits are generated by an AI language model and may produce results that are silly, unrealistic, embarrassing, or unsuitable for your context.
You evaluate every forfeit yourself before acting on it.
You assume all risk of injury, embarrassment, professional consequences, social fallout, legal trouble, or any other harm arising from your decision to perform a forfeit.
You will not perform any forfeit that is illegal, unsafe, non-consensual, or that targets a person who has not freely agreed to take part.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law (including the Australian Consumer Law where applicable), Footy Forfeit, its operators, owners and contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, including but not limited to: physical injury, embarrassment, loss of friendship, employment consequences, damaged property, defamation claims, or third-party complaints.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Footy Forfeit to:

Generate or share content that names real, identifiable third parties without their consent.
Promote illegal activity (trespass, theft, vandalism, drink driving, drug use, anything criminal).
Harass, bully, defame, or discriminate against any person or group.
Generate sexual content, nudity, content involving minors, or material that violates the Online Safety Act 2021.
Attempt to circumvent our content guardrails, including the 18+ gate.

Personalisation features (entering your own name and your mate's name) require that both you and your mate consent to taking part. Don't enter someone's name as the loser if they haven't agreed to be in the game.

6. Complaints & Takedowns

If you believe content on Footy Forfeit is defamatory, infringes your rights, or violates Australian law, contact us at support@innmotion.com.au. We will respond within seven (7) days and remove genuinely problematic content. This complaints process is intended to support the innocent dissemination defence under Stage 2 Australian defamation reforms (effective 1 July 2024).

7. Privacy

Footy Forfeit collects the absolute minimum data needed to run the site:

What you enter into forms (your name, your mate's name, AFL team selection) is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) only to generate a forfeit. We do not store these inputs in any database.
Local storage on your device records your 18+ confirmation so the gate doesn't appear every visit. You can clear this in your browser settings any time.
Anonymous usage analytics (page views, generation counts) may be collected via Netlify's hosting platform.
Magic-link sign-in (used for the leagues feature) stores your email address in our authentication provider (Supabase) so you can sign back in. We do not market to you, sell your email, or share it with third parties.

This site complies with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and applicable Australian Privacy Principles. If you want your account deleted, email us at the address above.

8. Spam Act Compliance

We do not send marketing emails. The only emails Footy Forfeit ever sends are transactional magic-link sign-in messages requested by you. These comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

9. Intellectual Property

Forfeits are provided as-is. You're free to share them with mates, post them to social media, screenshot them, and use them however you like in personal/social contexts. The Footy Forfeit name, logo, design language and codebase are owned by InnMotion. The Squiggle AFL fixture data is provided by Squiggle and remains their property.

10. Indemnity

You indemnify and hold harmless Footy Forfeit, its operators, owners, contributors and InnMotion from any claims, damages, costs (including legal fees), or losses arising from (a) your use of the site, (b) your performance of any forfeit, (c) your breach of these Terms, or (d) any consequences flowing from your actions whether or not you blame the site for those actions.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the site after updates constitutes acceptance.
